Can i leave a note for fedex to drop off my package?

i just ordered a iphone and the estimated delivery time is this friday, however i am not going to be home. I really dont want to recieve a door tag from fedex and have to wait until monday. Would i be able to leave a note on friday with my tracking number and signature saying to drop it off?
