What's the best console for homebrew?

DSlite. Seen as you have an R4 (I'm assuming you also have the latest kernel on the microSD card) all you need to do is download homebrew, unzip it (if it's zipped), and put the .NDS file anywhere on the microSD card. Then load it up on the DS.
