Your suggestions on the best off-the-shelf cat food?

We feed our cat Blue Buffalo finicky feast for mature cats. And for treats we feed him Whiskas Temptations. He's doing just fine on the Whiskas and BB. I would be a little hesitant about feeding Royal Canin because all i've heard about their pet food is that its got some very bad ingredients, and it was actually recalled at least once. I've never heard of Felix pouches so i can't say about that. I volunteer at a cat shelter and some of the cats there are fed Whiskas and they are doing great on it! Haven't heard too much about it, but so far we haven't had any bad results with it. i'll probably get some thumbs down for this, but i'm just giving our experience with it
