My 4 year old dachshund suffers form a mild case of hepatic encephalopathy. This has been diagnosed after liv?
My 4 year old dachshund suffers form a mild case of hepatic encephalopathy. This has been diagnosed after liver panel screenings, a bile acid test and some mild "weaknesses" that almost appear as a seizure. These weaknesses have occurred approximately 8 times in her 4 years. They usually last about 4 minutes from start to finish and she fully recovers and goes on with her day. She is currently eating Royal Canin Hepatic LS dry food and a small amount of Royal Canin venison and potato canned food as a small treat. My question is....is it okay for me to supplement her diet with low sodium green beans? She used to eat them and love them. After the diagnosis based on the info listed above, I am trying to keep her on a very low protein site. Would the green beans be okay? Thanks so much for your help.
