Can I forge my parents signature for school electives?

I am 17 years old from Australia. I wanted to change my school subjects but I need parental permission and my parents are being unreasonable, so if I forge my parents signature, what is the most trouble I can get in if I am caught? Is it likely that I will get caught? Do most people look at the signatures thoroughly or just glance at them?
